About
I came from art school. Today I design products and ship parts of them in code. I still paint, make ceramics and keep plants.

01 · The long way round
From art school to design and code
Art school
BA (Hons) Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University, working across:
Print, web and art
After graduating I worked across graphic and print design, web design, and art and teaching.
Why UI/UX
The web work led there. I wanted to make things people actually use, and I was pulled towards tech and digital products. I taught myself first.
Oursky
Joined as a UI/UX Designer in 2014; Senior UI/UX Designer since 2016. Most of what I know I learnt here, on real projects.
Courses, while working
I added courses on top of the day job.
Design and code
I design the product and ship parts of the interface myself, through Storybook components and design pull requests.

Sessions I’ve run for the team
How designers can work in Storybook and open their own pull requests.
Using tools like Claude and Cursor in design work.
How to use AI to design in Figma.
The fundamentals of design.
Also in progress: helping organise a design guideline for our internal AI tools with a fellow designer, and moving the design team’s docs into the company handbook.
04 · Outside work
Slow things
I keep plants and make ceramics. Both teach me patience: a plant grows at its own pace, and a glaze only shows itself after the firing. Both sharpen my eye for colour and small details.
I still paint, and I travel. For fun I try AI tools for images, vector and motion, like Firefly, Kling and Rive.
